ONCE UPON A CROWN

WHAT IS ONCE UPON A CROWN

Once Upon A Crown is a Disney princess story meets roguelite platformer.

Similar to the high action and adventure playstyles of games like Hades and CupHead. Set in a world where all things are fairy tale and fantasy, the player takes on the role of a little girl, Red Riding Hood the Wolf Girl, ripping through the pages of the land to acquire a crown of her own as the opposing princesses attempt to put her down and crush her dreams.

Below is the original pitch and title for the game.

OPENING CUTSCENE

Below is the opening cutscene I wrote for Once Upon A Crown that plays after pressing the Slay button. To keep with the fairy tale theme of the game, and the inspirations from Cuphead, we created this cutscene to be like it was taken right out of a storybook. This opening cutscene sets up the drive for Red to attack the Princesses.

Once Upon A Crown Gameplay

This video takes you through the entire game we were able to create. From Opening menu, to opening cutscene, to the first boss.
